S.W.I.M. Explorers
Level 1
- Special Needs Only
- 30 minutes
- max ratio 1:4
- Caregiver is in the water with their child during this class.

Children with Special Needs are introduced to the aquatic environment and encouraged to enjoy themselves while learning about the water alongside their trusted caregiver.
Together, we will work on skills that will help children be more comfortable in the water through positive experiences and at a pace developmentally appropriate for your child on each day of class.
Trusted caregivers will also learn skills to practice and reinforce water readiness and water safety outside of swim class.
More details:
In this class parent/child (or trusted caregiver) pair work 1:1 with their own child in the water
- Activity 'stations' are set up around the pool for parents to work with their child and parents can change stations as needed
- Flexibility in each activity station (to meet your child's needs that day)
- Instructor travels throughout class to each pair and provides feedback, tips, and tricks
- Instructor will also work with each child individually with the goal of building trust in the child/instructor relationship
A few days before the class session starts, parents will be sent an email with some explanations of the activities and what to expect.
